“The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them.” – #DavidHicks
When I meet a client, I want to KNOW them. How else can I use their space to tell their story and create that extension of who they without knowing who they are? These clients are larger than life, and when they enter the room, you feel it. IN THE BEST WAY. I remember thinking, "Wow. How am I supposed to really do them justice? They are so incredible on their own, how am I going to make a space worthy of them....?" Then, I remembered... the best advice I ever got from a brilliant interior designer, "the people make the space".
"THE PEOPLE MAKE THE SPACE."
What does that mean? That means that the space should be a functional, simple, understated canvas for them to be everything that they are without any distraction. They host parties and cater and cook together and the kitchen needed to be functional AND elegant, but definitely doesn't need to steal the show from the true stars of this home.

White Paint. Not just any white paint... the perfect white paint. This is Medallion Cabinetry's #whiteicing. Which is a painfully appropriate name as it really was the icing on the cake (ha!). The white is the perfect neutral backdrop for the glass backsplash and the granite countertops. It was white enough to be clean and welcoming but not so white that it was cold and sterile. The raised panel doors are a classic style that unfortunately aren't done enough; I love how a raised panel door can effortlessly add something rich to a kitchen without feeling over the top and hard to clean.
The Kitchen has TONS of storage and two large sinks with pull-out trash cans and dishwashers which are needed to prep and clean up after a big party. The back wall has the fridge, double ovens and balanced storage solutions on either side. The island with the slide in range has equal work stations on both sides so that both cooks can have their own space.
Can't forget the wine storage on the end - you can never have too many wine bottles!

"Style is timeless. It transcends generations - it's enduring. If you're thinking about fashion, it's of the moment. And that doesn't mean that it's not important at times to embrace trends and that type of thing, but style is less about trends than it is about how you carry yourself. - John Vavartos"
